PARENT COMMUNICATION

We are proud of the relationship we forge with parents: they play an active and important role in the life of the school, and their involvement is central to the teaching and learning process.

Our pupils and parents are fully engaged in partnership with our teachers. We have regular dialogue with parents on their children’s progress through reports and parents’ consultations.

PARENT AND COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION

Parents are encouraged to volunteer in the Pre-school and Elementary School. Studies have shown that children have greater success when parents are involved in their children’s education.

The school may invite parents to come in to read stories to the pupils or volunteer in other ways such as teaching, dance classes or songs. Parents with useful skills are encouraged to partner with the school to offer these skills. Sign up forms for parent volunteers are available with the heads of schools or the administrative office.

Quotes inspire safe play and empathy in children while also assisting parents to raise confident and kind kids.

WAYS THAT PARENTS CAN OFFER ONGOING SUPPORT FOR YOUR CHILDREN’S LEARNING.

Parents support their child's learning through consistent routines, attending school events, providing supplementary materials, encouraging challenges and goals, communicating with teachers, and celebrating successes.

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES (OPEN DAY)

Parent-Teacher Conferences are usually held once a term, and all parents are expected to attend. Your child will bring home an invitation to these conferences. The dates for these are usually marked on the student’s school calendar and sms may be sent as a reminder as well.

TALKING WITH YOUR CHILDREN:

Frequent discussions with your children about school help you to know how things are going at school and provide an opportunity to offer advice and support. The discussions also help you know if they are having difficulty and whether a teacher or the Guidance Counsellor should be contacted.

As parents, your contribution to your children’s education is very valuable. You can have a positive impact on your child’s experience and progress in school. At Reeds Schools, parents are encouraged to be actively involved in their children’s education and to establish regular communication with the teacher. Studies show that parent involvement helps children to be more successful in school.

Ongoing communication makes it easier for the teacher to understand your children’s needs and helps you understand what is happening in school.
